Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Prakash Nanthagopalan
Abhilash Shukla, is an engineer from Guna, Madhya Pradesh. He did his Masters in Engineering (M.E) at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi (Jharkhand) on the properties of concrete with partial replacement of cement by rice husk ash.
He completed his PhD (Aug. 2020) at Department of Civil Engg., IIT Bombay on "Design and development of Ultra high performance concrete against blast and ballistic impact".
Since October 2020, he is working as Senior Project Scientist at IIT Delhi.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Venkata Santosh Kumar Delhi
Mr. Abhishek Raj Singh, an enthusiast of Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Computation and Machine Learning worked as part of the research team headed by Prof. Venkata Santosh Kumar Delhi. Mr. Singh has graduated from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh (Formerly U.P.T.U). During his graduation, he underwent internship at Border Roads Organisation, (P) SETUK. He pursued his Master of Engineering with specialization in Construction Technology and Management, from Madhav Institute of Technology & Science, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. During another internship at Larsen & Toubro (POWER), the practical knowledge gained on site and the impediments in the adoption of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts motivated him for his dissertation on Contract Management of EPC projects. The outcome of the work was admired by one of India’s leading organization ONGC Ltd. His belief in idiom ‘less knowledge is more harmful than no knowledge’ motivated and promoted him to the Institute of national importance and prestige, IIT Bombay. He defended his PhD thesis in the year 2022.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Prakash Nanthagopalan
Amol Kamalakar Mali, is working as Assistant Professor in Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, Maharashtra. He completed his Bachelor’s degree (B.E. (Civil)) from KIT’s College of Engineering, Kolhapur, Maharashtra and M. Tech. (Civil) from IIT Roorkee, Roorkee. After Post-Graduation, he worked in NMSEZ Pvt. Ltd., Navi-Mumbai as Assistant Manager for two years and then joined Walchand college of Engineering, Sangli.
His research work during PhD focused on Utilization of Sugarcane bagasse ash as a pozzolanic material in cement concrete.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Albert Thomas
Ann Francis has done her B-Tech in Civil Engineering from Mar Athanasius College of Engineering (Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala). She then pursued her M-Tech in Construction Technology and Management from IIT Madras and joined Larsen and Toubro Construction in 2012 as a Planning Engineer. She worked in Gujarat and later in Delhi at construction sites being part of the Planning department. She has worked in the areas of planning, scheduling, costing, contracts and estimation during her 5 year stint in the industry. Ann’s interest in academia led her to join Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management (NMIMS University), Mumbai in 2017 as an Assistant Professor in the departments of Civil and Infrastructure & Real Estate Management. Her desire to contribute to the society through meaningful research has led her to join IITB. Ann worked Prof. Albert Thomas and her broad research interests was in the area of Sustainability and Lean construction. After completing her PhD, she joined IIT Delhi as an assistant professor.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Muhammad Salman
Dr. Nedunuri Sai Surya Sree Aparna obtained her Doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. She received her M.Tech and B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from the IIT Delhi and Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, respectively. She has also worked as a senior Engineer (Civil) at Larsen & Toubro Construction Ltd. for a short duration. Currently, she is working as an Institute Postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Bombay under the mentorship of Prof. Muhammad Salman.

She defended her thesis on "Engineering the alkali activated ground granulated blast furnace slag and fly ash based binders for developing concrete with pumpable workability and enhanced workable time" under the supervision of Prof. Muhammad Salman.

Kishor S. Bhagwat has completed Diploma in Civil Engineering from K.B.P. Polytechnic Kopargaon, Maharashtra. He has completed Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Government College of Engineering Karad (GCEK), Maharashtra. He has completed Master of Technology in Construction and Management from College of Engineering Pune (COEP), Maharashtra. He worked on Pre-Stressed Concrete, Self-Curing and Eco-friendly Concrete, and Sustainable Construction.
His research interest is in Construction Safety Management, Building Information Modelling, Sustainable Construction, Innovative Construction Techniques, etc.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Venkata Santosh Kumar Delhi
Malla Vijayeta is a PMI certified PMP® (Project Management Professional) and U.S. Green Building Council accredited LEED® Green Associate™ and possesses 11 years of work experience in the AECO industry. She pursued her Masters (M.Tech) from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in Construction Technology & Management specialization under BIS (Build India Scholarship) from M/s L&T(2009-11), and her master thesis was on “Integration of BIM and MPCS (Management Planning & Control Systems).” She pursued her under-graduate studies from Andhra University (2003-07)(GITAM College of Engineering) and was a recipient of “Sri Venkatadari Chowdary Memorial Gold Medal award for academic excellence and recipient of “Kumari. R. Madhavi Latha Gold Medal Award instituted by Smt. D.Divya for having secured the highest aggregate marks among Girls students of Civil Engineering. During her 10 years tenure in “ M/s Larsen & Toubro, ECC Division” and 1 year in “M/s Tata Projects Ltd” she majorly worked in Water Infrastructure projects and Minerals & Metallurgical projects and gained hands-on experience in Project Management, Planning & Controlling, Contracts & Tendering, Project Operations, Management Information Systems & Business Development & Marketing areas while executing for Turnkey Project Services with reputed Governmental & Private organizations. Her inclination towards academics made her shift towards working as Assistant Professor in NICMAR (National Institute of Construction Management and Research), Hyderabad for the past 1 year, where she delivers courses to Post Graduate students in Project Engineering Management, Advanced Construction Management, Quantity Surveying & Contracts Management. After obtaining considerable work experience, she felt the lacuna in the implementation of disruptive technologies or practices in the Indian Construction industry, which motivated her to pursue her research at IIT Bombay. Malla Vijayeta worked with Prof. Venkata Santhosh Kumar Delhi, and her broad research area included integrating BIM (Building Information Modeling) with disruptive technologies in the AECO industry.

Graduating in 2007 from National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal, Murali Jagannathan joined Larsen and Toubro Limited as a Graduate Engineer Trainee. He held various positions at site, Regional Office and Head Quarters of the organization during the 9-year stint. Having completed M.Tech at IIT Madras, he was given an opportunity to work with the business development team in L& T Construction and was involved in the tendering and bidding process of some of the national and international construction projects. He was later appointed as the Executive Assistant to the Vice President and Business Unit Head at company’s Chennai Head Quarters. Having completed a two-year term at Head Quarters, he was then posted at various project sites of the organizations. He then completed Post Graduate Executive Management Programme (PGEMP) from SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai. To pursue his interest in academics he then joined National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) in June 2016 at Pune, as Assistant Professor. Murali currently works in the area of Contracts Management for his doctoral studies under Prof. Venkata Santosh Kumar Delhi, in the department of civil engineering.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Prakash Nanthagopalan
Dr. Das is from Assam. He has completed his Bachelors in Civil Engineering (B.Tech) from NIT Silchar, Assam. He worked as a Senior QA/QC Engineer in L&T Construction for 3 years and have experience in preparation of Quality Assurance documents and inspection at site for various works like RCC, Masonry, Waterproofing, PT Works, etc and also has experience in conducting mix design, production and placement of concrete, materials inspection and documentation for ISO audits. He joined IIT Bombay for his PhD under the Prime Minister Research Fellowship scheme.

Dr. Das focused on Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) fracture mechanics during his PhD. He defended his PhD in the year 2023. In his post-doctoral research tenure in IIT Bombay as an IPDF, he focused further into UHPC’s fracture behaviour in the presence of steel fibres, examining notch size effects on fracture energy, analysing the fracture process zone, and endeavouring to develop a comprehensive fracture model.

Dr. Omprakash completed his Ph.D. in 2024 at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay as a recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship, awarded by the Government of India to exceptional researchers demonstrating high academic merit and research potential. His doctoral research led to a customizable decision-support system for community-wide net zero planning, enabling policymakers to identify the most efficient building retrofits for achieving net-zero energy targets.

Omprakash has developed expertise in several building energy simulation tools (EnergyPlus, DesignBuilder, EUReCA, City Energy Analyst) and geospatial analysis (QGIS, WebODM). He is proficient in machine learning, object detection (YOLO), renewable energy optimization (HOMER), and Python programming. He is also a licensed UAV pilot (2-25 kg) certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, India.

Currently, Dr. Omprakash Ramalingam Rethnam is a post-doctoral researcher at the School of Surveying and Construction Innovation, TU Dublin, working on the SEAI-funded CC-DORM project, which investigates overheating risks in dwellings under large-scale retrofit and climate change.

Dr. Ponambala Moorthi P V completed his B.E in Civil Engineering from Thiagarajar college of Engineering (TCE), Madurai, Tamil Nadu. He then went on to pursue his Master's degree in Infrastructure Engineering and Management from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani – Pilani campus.

He finished his PhD (April 2022) on “Interaction Dominance Based Classification of Cementitious Suspensions and the Need for better Rheo-Physical Process” from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Maharashtra.

His research mainly focused on engineering shear thickening behavior of cementitious suspensions for high shear applications.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Prakash Nanthagopalan
Revanth, is an engineer from Bethamcherla, Andhra Pradesh. He received his B. Tech (Civil Engineering), and M. Tech (Structural Engineering) from SASTRA University, Thanjavur. Tamil Nadu. After his graduation, he worked as a Bridge Engineer Trainee in L&T Infrastructure Engineering at Chennai which mainly deals with the structural design of bridges and metros, transportation planning and ports. Later he worked as an assistant professor in a college in Hyderabad for a period of 15 months. His M. Tech thesis was on Durability of High Performance Concrete.
Currently, his research focused on the rheology of pumpable concrete to address the issues in the construction industry for pumping of concrete to greater heights.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Prakash Nanthagopalan
Dr. Sendhil Vigneshwar Dhanapal, completed his Bachelors in Civil Engineering (B.E) from Arulmighu Meenakshi Amman College of Engineering, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Following his Bachelor’s degree, he worked in the construction industry for two years. He completed his Masters in Engineering (M.E) in Construction Engineering and Management at College of Engineering Guindy (CEG), Chennai on the cost escalation factors in a Construction Industry.
He completed his Ph.D.in 2019 on the topic, “Rheological investigations on cementitious paste, mortar, concrete and its potential application in pumping”.

Ph.D Supervisor: Prof. Albert Thomas
Dr. Tripti Singh Rajput earned her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Construction Technology and Management) from IIT Bombay under the guidance of Prof. Albert Thomas (2019–2025). Her doctoral research pioneered a framework for optimizing energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality in naturally ventilated and mixed-mode buildings, leveraging energy simulations, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and sensing technologies. She holds an M.E. in Infrastructure Engineering and Management from BITS Pilani and a B.E. (Honours) in Civil Engineering from O.P. Jindal Institute of Technology. Dr. Rajput has served as contractual faculty at NIT Raipur and the Government Engineering College, Bilaspur. Her research interests span sustainable building design, thermal comfort, energy optimization, and the application of CFD in building performance.
